Glenallachie The Wood Collection Amontillado Cask Finish

The Wood Collection from the Glenallachie Distillery concentrates on different wood finishes and how they influence the spirit. This incredible single malt has been finished in Amontillado Sherry Hogsheads. Using hogsheads that previously held this well-aged style of Sherry, the subsequent single malt brims with dark cherries, toasted hazelnuts and caramel sauce.

 Beginning its life as a Fino, Amontillado Sherry undergoes an additional maturation period without a ‘flor’ layer. This stage of oxidative ageing develops a richer colour and more robust characteristics.
