Gleann Mòr Spirits

Tormore 38 Years Old Rare Find

ABV: 54.6% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled in 1988 at Tormore Distillery, near Grantown-on-Spey in the Speyside region of Scotland. Tormore is known for a light, clean and gently fruity spirit, a style that can develop real elegance given long enough in cask.

It has been bottled by Gleann Mòr Spirits as part of The Long Game, a trio of exceptionally old single casks from their Rare Find range, spanning 34 to 38 years of maturation. After decades of maturation, this Tormore spent a final 27 months in a 1st fill Oloroso sherry barrique.

Oloroso is a rich, dry sherry from Jerez in southern Spain, aged oxidatively so that it gains depth, colour and nutty warmth. A barrique is a smaller cask of around 225 litres, giving the whisky more contact with the wood, and as a first fill cask its sherry influence is at its freshest and most generous.

The long years in cask have softened and refined the spirit, building depth, poise and complexity, while the Oloroso finish has added a layer of richness and warmth. Gleann Mòr describe the result as a single malt of remarkable age and exceptional balance.

Aged 38 years, distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2026 from cask #26087. Bottled at natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 198 bottles.

Tormore, built in 1960 on the edge of the Cairngorms in Speyside, is one of Scotland’s most striking distilleries, known for its modernist architecture and landscaped grounds. It produces a light, fruity, and gently floral style single malt, often showing notes of apple, citrus, soft malt sweetness, and a clean, crisp finish. Long used mainly for blending, Tormore’s spirit has gained more attention in recent years for its elegant, easy-drinking Speyside character and its visually iconic distillery setting.
