Taigh is the first core expression from Torabhaig - a signature release and the purest reflection of their house style, ‘Smoke with Taste’.

Crafted to be elegant, expressive and welcoming, Taigh is matured in a considered combination of First Fill Bourbon barrels, Refill Bourbon casks and select Madeira casks, bringing balance, softness and depth to the gently peated spirit.

Torabhaig favours First Fill Bourbon as a perfect partner to their style - drawing out notes of vanilla, sweet spice and honey that harmonise with the subtle coastal smoke. Refill casks allow the distillery character to shine through, while the Madeira influence lends a rounded fruit sweetness and warmth. 

Nose

Soft seaside embers and flint smoke meet baked apple, maple syrup and gentle spice.

Palate

Smooth and lightly oily, with vanilla custard, toasted almond and sweet dried fruits wrapped in elegant smoke.

Finish

Warm and lingering, with cinnamon, clove and a persistent, welcoming glow.

Torabhaig Distillery, opened in 2017 on the Isle of Skye, is a young but seriously characterful operation built inside a restored 19th-century farm steading overlooking the Sleat peninsula. It focuses on producing robustly peated single malt shaped by long fermentations, traditional copper stills, and Skye’s damp, maritime climate. The whisky leans into earthy smoke, coastal salinity, barley sweetness, and a clean, slightly herbal edge, often matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks to keep the flavours bright and structured. With its combination of old stone buildings, modern craft, and a clear dedication to smoky, island-driven whisky, Torabhaig has quickly carved out its own identity on Skye.
