Tamdhu 18 Years Old 2008 The Auld and the Bold

ABV: 61.2% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled in 2008 at the Tamdhu Distillery, known for maturing their rich, full-bodied Speyside whiskies. This unique release was aged for 28 years, including a finishing period in a single moscatel cask, brims with dense red fruits, underpinned by apricot conserve and ripe peach. A whisper of coconut waves through, while candied ginger pricks the palate with subtle heat. The distillate's weight carries it all effortlessly, giving way to soft oak and a glowing, spiced warmth on the finish.

Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Berry Bros. & Rudd for their The Auld and the Bold Collection.

Tamdhu Distillery, established in 1897 on the banks of the River Spey, is a Speyside malt maker defined by its unwavering commitment to sherry cask maturation. After being revived in 2011, Tamdhu rebuilt its identity around using exclusively sherry-seasoned oak from Spain, giving its whisky a rich profile full of dried fruit, vanilla, toasted nuts, and subtle spice. Long fermentation and slow distillation create a clean, malty spirit that takes particularly well to European and American oak sherry casks. With its Victorian heritage, distinctive pagoda roofs, and a flavour style rooted firmly in sherry-led depth, Tamdhu stands out as one of Speyside’s most characterful and classically indulgent distilleries.
