Alistair Walker

Strathclyde 9 Years Old Infrequent Flyers

ABV: 60.8% 70 cL

This single grain whisky was distilled in 2014 at the Strathclyde Distillery in Glasgow. It was aged for 9 years in a single red wine hogshead, the resulting whisky has sweet and fruity notes of marzipan, apricots, raisins and cranberries.

It was bottled by Alistair Walker at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring for his Infrequent Flyers Collection.

Nose

There is no mistaking that sweet, solventy, aldehydic burst of toasted coconut, Battenberg cake and floral, perfumy notes.

Palate

Vibrant and full of vigour. Lashings of almonds, marzipan and cherry Bakewells from the grain, complemented by some gorgeous flavours drawn from the red wine cask - raisins, apricots and cranberries. There's a little pepper, and oodles of Demerara sugar.
