This single malt whisky was distilled at an unnamed distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland in 2014. It was finished for a year in two wine octaves from Italy, which previously held Vin Santo—a sweet dessert wine from Tuscany. Vin Santo is also known as "Holy Wine" due to the fermentation traditionally taking place around Easter.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE | Ripe dark plum, orange marmalade, raisins, charred oak. |
PALATE | Treacle, bruised apple, toasted pecans, burnt orange peel and charred oak smoke. |
FINISH | Dark cake spice and toasted nuts, bitter orange peel, ripe fig, red apple skins, caramel and cigar box. |
Only 148 bottles were produced.
