Secret Speyside 10 Years Old Obscurities & Curiosities

ABV: 65% 70 cL

A 10 Years Old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, distilled in 2016 and matured in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead before bottling in 2026 at 65% ABV. The smaller hogshead has worked quickly on the spirit, wrapping classic Speyside fruit in rich, pudding-like sherry - sweet, fragrant and just peculiar enough to tempt you closer. The tent is empty, but the ringmaster is smiling.

Bottled at natural cask strength by North Star Spirits for their Obscurities & Curiosities series. 

Nose

Something delicious is lurking behind the velvet curtain. Brandy-soaked sultanas, apricot conserve and freshly grated nutmeg emerge first, followed by the comforting scent of vanilla custard.

Palate

Poached pears, buttered gingerbread and damson compote take centre stage, followed by toasted almonds. Silky and generous, with just enough fruity sharpness to keep all that pudding-like indulgence in check.

Finish

Unhurried and gently warming. Honeycomb and cinnamon soften into a delicate trace of rosewater.
