The Single Cask

Royal Brackla 18 Years Old

ABV: 55.8% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled on the 18th of January 2006 at the Royal Brackla Distillery - the first distillery to be granted a Royal Warrant. It was aged for 18 years in a single hogshead before being bottled by The Single Cask at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

Nose

The bouquet is that of a vivacious florist with geranium, daisies and orchard blossoms. Auster and mineralic like a Chablis wine becoming heavier with cereal-led notes like a cereal mash in a brewery. Fruit notes develop into banana bread and baked apple.

Palate

The flavours are tart, tangy, zesty, and the mid-pallet becomes more cereal-led, tasting like a fresh apple strudel. It has a pleasantly silky palate. The estery notes explode with water, delivering lots of apple flavour whilst transforming the mouthfeel into buttery elegance.

Finish

Surprisingly long and contrasts with an astringent liquorice, star anise and mocha.
