This single malt was distilled at Royal Brackla, near Nairn in the Highlands of Scotland. The distillery is known for a rich, fruity spirit with plenty of body, which takes particularly well to sherry casks.
Selected and bottled by The Whisky Cellar, the Edinburgh-based independent bottler, this release spent 15 years maturing in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt.
Fifteen years in fresh sherry oak gives the fruity Brackla spirit a dark, rich and spicy depth, while the generous strength keeps the flavour bold and full.
Dark wildflower honey, spice-roasted nuts and pepper.
Bruised red apples, cinnamon, dusted mocha and charred oak.
Cake spice and milk chocolate on a full finish.

Royal Brackla Distillery, founded in 1812 on the Cawdor Estate in the Highlands, is renowned as one of Scotland’s oldest licensed distilleries and the first to receive a Royal Warrant, earning it the title “The King’s Own Whisky.” It produces a refined, orchard-fruity single malt shaped by long fermentation, tall stills, and a maturation style that leans heavily on first-fill sherry casks, giving the whisky rich notes of honeyed apple, dried fruit, and warm spice. Set amid the quiet farmland between Nairn and Inverness, the distillery combines historic gravitas with a focus on elegant, sherry-led flavour, making Royal Brackla a distinctive outlier in the Highland region.
