Spinner Bluff
ABV: 56.3% 70 cL
This single malt was distilled at Royal Brackla, near Nairn in the Highlands of Scotland. The distillery is known for a rich, fruity spirit with plenty of body, which takes particularly well to sherry casks.
Bottled by independent bottler Spinner Bluff, it was matured for 11 years in Oloroso sherry casks.
Oloroso is a rich, dry sherry from Jerez in southern Spain. It is aged oxidatively, in contact with air, which gives it a deep, nutty and dried-fruit character that carries through into the casks once the sherry is emptied.
The Oloroso casks bring a warm, nutty, dried-fruit richness to Brackla's fruity spirit, and the high strength keeps everything full-flavoured.
Warming characters of walnut, figs, dark plums and toasty oak.
Dried fruits of raisins and apricots, integrated with chocolate and roasted nuts.
Cake spice and chocolate nut bar.
Tax included.

Royal Brackla Distillery, founded in 1812 on the Cawdor Estate in the Highlands, is renowned as one of Scotland’s oldest licensed distilleries and the first to receive a Royal Warrant, earning it the title “The King’s Own Whisky.” It produces a refined, orchard-fruity single malt shaped by long fermentation, tall stills, and a maturation style that leans heavily on first-fill sherry casks, giving the whisky rich notes of honeyed apple, dried fruit, and warm spice. Set amid the quiet farmland between Nairn and Inverness, the distillery combines historic gravitas with a focus on elegant, sherry-led flavour, making Royal Brackla a distinctive outlier in the Highland region.
