Finn Thomson
ABV: 53.5% 70 cL
This incredible single grain from North British Distillery was bottled by Finn Thomson exclusively for our shop to celebrate our 15th anniversary.
Distilled on the 2nd of March 1998, it was aged in a single sherry hogshead for 27 years. The slow maturation produced a sweet, rich whisky with notes of milk chocolate, caramel and dried fruit.
The cask itself was "rescued" by Finn from a large parcel of sherried grains deemed too good for blending, and then carefully selected by our team to mark this significant milestone.
Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.
Tax included.

North British single grain whisky offers a lighter, smoother alternative to single malts, showcasing the elegant side of grain distillation. Made primarily from maize (corn) and distilled in continuous column stills, it produces a clean, sweet spirit that develops rich complexity with age. Matured in ex-bourbon or refill casks, North British single grain whiskies often display notes of vanilla, toffee, honey, coconut, and gentle spice, with a silky texture and subtle oak influence. While most of its output goes into blended Scotch, independent bottlers occasionally release aged single grain expressions — some over 30 or 40 years old — prized for their smoothness, delicate sweetness, and exceptional value compared to similarly aged single malts.
