North British 1998 "Tartan Army Whisky"

ABV: 50.8% 70 cL

A rare opportunity to create a whisky that marks a moment in time.

This extraordinary single grain Scotch Whisky from North British Distillery was distilled on the very day Scotland played Brazil in France during World Football Cup of 1998 - the national drink for the national team, made for and by the community that supports it.

This single cask has waited as long as the fans themselves.  Classic aged Single Grain characteristics shine through with a natural sweetness and buttery mouthfeel - a whisky worthy of the long wait. Bottled at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 220 bottles.

Every bottle sold donates to the Tartan Army Children's Charity.

North British single grain whisky offers a lighter, smoother alternative to single malts, showcasing the elegant side of grain distillation. Made primarily from maize (corn) and distilled in continuous column stills, it produces a clean, sweet spirit that develops rich complexity with age. Matured in ex-bourbon or refill casks, North British single grain whiskies often display notes of vanilla, toffee, honey, coconut, and gentle spice, with a silky texture and subtle oak influence. While most of its output goes into blended Scotch, independent bottlers occasionally release aged single grain expressions — some over 30 or 40 years old — prized for their smoothness, delicate sweetness, and exceptional value compared to similarly aged single malts.
