Miltonduff Distillery is a historic Speyside whisky distillery located near Elgin, Scotland. Founded in 1824, the site’s water source, the Black Burn, was once used by monks from nearby Pluscarden Abbey for brewing and distilling. Over the years, Miltonduff changed hands several times, including acquisition by Hiram Walker in 1936 to supply malt for blends like Ballantine’s. Today, it remains a key producer for blended Scotch while also releasing single malts.
Their whiskies are known for a fresh, floral character, with notes of orchard fruits, honey, citrus, and subtle vanilla, offering a clean, delicate, and approachable style. Older or independent bottling sometimes shows richer, sherried flavours, adding depth while maintaining the distillery’s signature freshness.
