Murray McDavid
ABV: 43.3% 70 cL
This rare and precious Macallan spirit started its 30-year journey in an American oak ex-bourbon hogshead. It then lay for seven years in an Oloroso Sherry cask, where it was elegantly infused with mellow fruitiness. To conclude its three-decade journey and to add a layer of opulence, it was finally filled into a PX Sherry cask from Murray McDavid’s wood partners Ximénez-Spínola in Jerez, Spain.
Indulgent fresh honeycomb and sweet toffee aromas gently rise from the glass, followed by creamy barley sugars that bind beautifully with a hint of fig and pastry. Moreish baking spice of cinnamon and nutmeg follow to tingle the palate, along with milk chocolate and a suggestion of coffee and ginger biscuits. The satisfying finish is generous, leaving you with a memorable kiss of sweet Sherry.
