Springbank Distillers

Longrow Peated

ABV: 46% 70 cL

Lowngrow Peated was created in 1973 to provide liquid for a heavily peated blend created at the time. It made its way into the hearts of Campbeltown whisky enthusiasts and the core range of Springbank Distillery in the 1990s.

The heavy peat is balanced with creaminess and richness, resulting in a complex malt with a long, lingering finish.

Nose

Very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops and toasted marshmallows, herbs and rich fruits appear over time.

Palate

Incredibly well balanced – rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present and washes over the palate in waves.

Finish

The gentle smoke lingers and lingers.

Springbank Distillery, founded in 1828 in Campbeltown on Scotland’s Kintyre peninsula, is celebrated as one of the most traditional and hands-on whisky makers left in Scotland. It’s one of the very few distilleries that carries out every stage of production on site, including floor malting, distillation, maturation, and bottling. Springbank produces three distinct single malts — Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn — each with its own style, from lightly smoky to heavily peated to triple-distilled. The spirit is known for its oily texture, coastal character, and complex mix of brine, spice, malt richness, and gentle smoke, shaped by slow fermentation, unusual partial triple distillation, and maturation in a variety of casks. With its cult following, small output, and fiercely traditional methods, Springbank stands as a benchmark for old-school, characterful Scotch whisky.
