Lagg Manzanilla Sherry Small Batch

ABV: 57.6% 70 cL

Single Malt Small Batch Manzanilla finish is the first ever Small Batch to be released worldwide with a Manzanilla finish. Initially matured in first and second-fill bourbon barrels, it was then finished for over a year in ex-Manzanilla Sherry casks.

Bottled by Lagg Distillery, this single malt was peated to 50 ppm, bottled without chill-filtration, and with no artificial colouring. Limited to 300 bottles in the UK. 

Nose

Rich and inviting, with sweet syrup and maraschino cherries at the forefront, complemented by a gentle warmth that hints at the whisky's depth.

Palate

The palate opens with hot honey sweetness, layered with spiced red fruits and cherry syrup, while a subtle salted minerality adds complexity and balance.

Finish

Long, drying and warming, with lingering ashen bonfire smoke and a delicate briny minerality that echoes the whisky's maritime character.

Lagg is the sister to the Arran Distillery, built on the opposite side of the island. The construction began in 2017, with the first spirit running through the stills in 2019. Unlike its sister, Lagg uses peat heavily in their distillation to create robust and maritime malt.
