This new limited edition release from Kilchoman has been fully matured in ruby port hogsheads. The selected casks were from two contrasting ages, the youngest being 6 years old. The time spent in these port casks has added layers of red berries and smoked meats to the natural maritime peat smoke and citrus sweetness of the Kilchoman spirit. 

Nose

Red berries and figs with citrus, cinnamon and smoked paprika.

Palate

Cooked strawberries, smoked meats, sweet tobacco and charcoal smoke.

Finish

Warming with waves of fruity sweetness and ashy smoke.

Kilchoman Distillery, founded in 2005 on the Isle of Islay, is one of Scotland’s newest farm distilleries known for producing traditional, heavily peated single malt whiskies. While Kilchoman grows and malts some of its own barley on-site, it also sources additional barley to meet production needs. The distillery’s whiskies are rich with smoky, maritime flavors, combined with fresh fruit and earthy notes that reflect the rugged Islay environment. Kilchoman has quickly earned a reputation for high-quality, authentic Islay whisky with a strong farm-to-bottle ethos.
