Little Brown Dog Spirits

Jura 17 Years Old 2008

ABV: 50.3% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled on the 11th of July 2008 at the Jura Distillery, on the island of the same name. Initially matured in a French oak oloroso sherry hogshead, the liquid was then re-racked into a single Pedro Ximenez sherry cask for a total of 17 years. The double sherry ageing created a rich character with big sherry notes.

Bottled by Little Brown Dog at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

Jura Distillery, founded in 1810 and rebuilt in the 1960s, sits on the remote island of Jura off Scotland’s west coast — a place known for more deer than people. The distillery produces a versatile style of whisky, ranging from soft and gently smoky to richer, more maritime expressions. Its spirit is typically light, slightly oily, and subtly peated, with notes of honey, citrus, and coastal influence. The island’s isolation and dramatic landscape give Jura a distinctive identity, making its whiskies feel both approachable and quietly wild.
