Juniper Hill is a Murray McDavid Mystery Malt from an undisclosed 'antique' Highland distillery set in the hills close to the River Findhorn. Taking its name from the juniper bush, this single malt forms the base of a proprietary blend that helped introduce Scotch whisky to the world.

Distilled in 2015, the spirit was matured in bourbon hogsheads before finishing in first-fill Tawny Port barriques from Portugal. Aged for 8 years and bottled in Autumn 2024 from casks 9900225, 9900228, 9900229, 9900230 and 9900231 as part of the Mystery Malt Autumn 2024 release, at 53.4% ABV. Limited to 1,657 bottles.

Nose

Red berries, toasty oak and almonds.

Palate

Dark cherry, sweet malt and cocoa.

Finish

Mixed fruits, walnuts and oak spice.
