Murray McDavid

Juniper Hill 6 Years Old Barolo Wine Mystery Malt

ABV: 46% 70 cL

Juniper Hill is a Murray McDavid Mystery Malt, a single malt from an undisclosed Highland distillery set close to the River Findhorn. Taking its name from the juniper bush, it offers whisky lovers the chance to enjoy a well-known Highland spirit presented in a new and unexpected way.

For this release, Murray McDavid's Whisky Creations Team bought new make spirit directly from the distillery and laid it down in European oak, before finishing it in first-fill casks that had previously held Barolo wine. Three casks were brought together for this bottling.

Barolo is one of Italy's most celebrated red wines, made from Nebbiolo grapes in the Piedmont region and often called "the king of wines". Its powerful, structured character makes a fine partner for European oak, lending depth, richness and a gentle red-fruit warmth to the Highland spirit and creating a generous, well-rounded dram.

Aged for 6 years and bottled in 2022 at 46% ABV, natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 1,093 bottles.
