Murray McDavid
ABV: 55.6% 70 cL
Inchgower sits near Buckie on the Moray Firth, at the edge of Speyside, and this single malt was distilled there in 2018. Its spirit is robust, spicy and lightly salty, an unusually coastal style for the region.
Bottled at 7 years old for Murray McDavid's Cask Partnership Series Batch 1, it spent more than five of those years in American oak barriques that had held Tawny Port at Caves de Murça in the Douro Valley.
That long spell in Port wood lets the wine work deep into the spirit, and the result a delicious marriage of salinity and sweetness.
Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.
Tax included.

Inchgower Distillery, founded in 1871 in Buckie, Speyside, produces smooth and rich single malt whisky known for its delicate fruit and honey notes with a subtle hint of spice. Primarily supplying whisky for blends like Bell’s, Inchgower also releases limited single malt bottlings. With a long history rooted in the Distillers Company Limited, it now operates under Diageo but remains a relatively low-profile gem. Using traditional copper pot stills and pure local spring water, Inchgower crafts a balanced and approachable spirit.
