Thompson Bros.
ABV: 48.5% 70 cL
This single malt was distilled at an unnamed distillery in the Highland Region using peated barley. It was aged for 18 years in refill wood, creating sharp citrus zest with stewed apples, smoked ham and capers in brine.
Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Thompson Bros.
Charred hazelnuts, dusty plated malt, burnt sage, rosemary, oily fishing ropes, tar and creels, crushed seashells and heather smoke with quince and apple peel.
Powerful with sharp citrus, heather honey, stewed apples, mineralogy - salt and wet slate, some smoked ham, anchovies and capers in brine.
Salty peanut brittle, the peat stays - and is powerful - quite earthy and robust, with lingering cigar smoke.
Tax included.
