The Glenturret, founded in 1763 near Crieff, is often cited as Scotland’s oldest working distillery. Small in scale and traditional in approach, it’s known for slow, hands-on production that emphasises character over volume. The whisky typically shows a gentle, creamy Highland style — soft malt sweetness, light citrus, subtle spice, and a rounded, approachable depth. Recent investment has paired its historic charm with a more premium presentation, but the spirit remains rooted in classic, craft-focused methods that reflect its long heritage.
