Glentauchers 17 Years Old 2009 Infrequent Flyers

ABV: 55.0% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled in 2009 at Glentauchers Distillery, a Speyside distillery near Keith best known for its light, fruity and grassy spirit and as a key component of many famous blends. Matured for 17 years, it was finished in a single hogshead that previously held Sauternes, the sweet white wine of Bordeaux, adding a layer of honeyed, stone-fruit richness to the distillery's elegant house style.

Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring, by Alistair Walker for his Infrequent Flyers Collection.

Nose

Dense and Autumnal; oven-baked apples, stewed sultanas and a burst of cranberry.

Palate

Orchard fruit sweetness and decent heft. Indulgently sweet - apricots, amaretti biscuits, marmalade on toast and Biscoff biscuits. A little nutmeg flex towards the close.
