Glenallachie Distillery

Glenallachie Sinteis Series - Part 3

ABV: 57.4% 70 cL

‘Sinteis’ (pronounced sin-teesh) meaning ‘synthesis’ in Scottish Gaelic, embodies our cask creativity as we merge two bold yet complementary wood types to concoct unparalleled expressions.

Combining single malt matured in Oloroso Sherry casks with spirit from French virgin oak barrels, this 2014 vintage unveils indulgent layers of dark chocolate and roasted coffee entwined with nutmeg and gentle oak warmth. This release was bottled at cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration, allowing the true character of the spirit to shine through.

Nose

Orange zest, nutmeg and dried orchard fruits, with honeybomb, maraschino cherries, mocha and crystalised brown sugar.

Palate

Heather honey, spiced orange and baked apple, followed by winter truffle, muscovado sugar and cinnamon, with hazelnuts and mocha on the finish.

£73.00

Tax included.

Glenallachie Distillery was founded in 1967 by Mackinlay McPherson. It was the fourth distillery designed by William Delmé-Evans, the architect behind Macduff, Tullibardine and Jura. For many years, malt produced at Glenallachie was mainly used for blends, including as a part of Chivas Regal, with rare single malt releases. In 2017, it was purchased from the Chivas Bros. by Billie Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson. Shortly after, in 2019, Glenallachie won the Distillery of the Year, and many more awards followed, both for the Distillery and its bottlings.
Glenallachie is known for its rich, fruity, sherry cask-aged single malts and incredible blends.
