Little Brown Dog Spirits

Glen Ord 13 Years Old 2013

ABV: 54.1% 70 cL

Distilled in 2013 at Glen Ord, near Muir of Ord on the edge of the Black Isle in the Northern Highlands. Glen Ord makes a fruity, malty and gently spiced spirit that has a real affinity for sherry casks.

This is Little Brown Dog's 100th release, and they wanted it to mean something personal. Two hogsheads of Glen Ord were vatted together and then given a further year in an Oloroso sherry puncheon, as a tribute to the old-style Glen Ord the team have shared with family over many years.

Oloroso is a rich sherry from Jerez in southern Spain, aged without the protective layer of flor yeast so it develops deep, nutty, dried-fruit character through oxidation. A puncheon is a large, wide cask, so the sherry influence builds steadily rather than swamping the spirit.

The result is an old-school Glen Ord made for sharing, a solid dram to linger over with good company. Little Brown Dog marked the milestone with a special tribute label and a shiny gold capsule.

Aged 13 years and bottled on 8 October 2026, it is presented at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration.

Glen Ord Distillery, founded in 1838 in Muir of Ord on Scotland’s Black Isle, is one of the Highlands’ oldest and most influential malt whisky distilleries. Renowned for its long fermentations and traditionally robust production style, Glen Ord creates a rich, malty spirit with layers of orchard fruit, honey, cereal sweetness and gentle spice. Matured primarily in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, the whisky balances weight and elegance, showcasing a classic Highland character. Today, Glen Ord is best known as the home of The Singleton of Glen Ord, while also playing a vital role in some of Scotland’s most famous blended whiskies.
