Glasgow 5 Years Old Syrah Wine Cask

ABV: 59.3% 70 cL

A single malt from Glasgow Distillery in the Lowland region. This 5-year-old whisky is unpeated and double distilled. It was first filled on the 17th of February 2020 into a first-fill ex-Bourbon barrel for 3 years and 2 months and re-racked into a Greek Syrah red wine barrique on the 17th April 2023 for another year and 10 months before bottling on the 5th of March 2025.

Bottled at natural colour and no chill filtration. Only 652 bottles were produced.

Nose

On the nose, rich dark fruits meet vibrant vanilla and toasted oak; opulent notes of blackberries and raspberries with a scattering of pink peppercorns.

Palate

On the palate, juicy notes of fresh strawberries and cream give way to waves of darker fruits, black cherries and fresh raspberries with ongoing notes of dark chocolate and freshly ground espresso.

Finish

The finish is long-lasting with notes of charred oak, dark chocolate, liquorice, and a cracked black peppercorn spice.
