Glasgow 1770 Marsala Cask Finish AWS Exclusive
ABV: 59% 70 cL
Distilled in October 2020 at The Glasgow Distillery, right in the heart of Scotland's largest city in the Lowland region, this is a peated single malt from a distillery best known for its fresh, fruity spirit. Here that fruity house character meets a layer of peat smoke, giving a whisky that is rich, smoky and full of personality.
The spirit was first matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels for 3 years and 9 months, soaking up the sweetness and vanilla that freshly emptied Bourbon casks bring. It was then re-racked into a single Marsala wine hogshead for a further 2 years and 1 month before being bottled exclusively for Aberdeen Whisky Shop.
Together, the smoky Glasgow spirit, the Bourbon barrels and the Marsala hogshead have created a rich and smoky single malt with real depth. Expect notes of sultanas and raisins, sweet smoke and toffee apples - a lovely balance of fruit, sweetness and gentle peat.
Aged 5 years and bottled on 1st September 2026, it is presented at natural cask strength of 58% ABV, natural colour and no chill filtration. Strictly limited to just 84 bottles, available only from Aberdeen Whisky Shop.
