Edradour No. 2 8 Years Old Anniversary Release

ABV: 57.1% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled at Edradour Distillery No. 2, the second of Edradour's two distilleries, near Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire. Edradour is known for a rich, creamy and sweet spirit with plenty of body, a style that pairs naturally with active wine and sherry casks.

Bottled by Signatory Vintage as an Anniversary Release, this whisky celebrates Andrew Symington's 40 years in the whisky industry, from 1986 to 2026. It matured for 8 years in 1st fill Châteauneuf-du-Pape hogsheads.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's best-known red wines, from the southern Rhône Valley, made mainly from Grenache, often blended with Syrah and Mourvèdre. A first fill cask has held wine immediately before the whisky went in, so it gives the strongest influence, and the hogshead's mid size gives good contact between spirit and wood.

Eight years in first fill red wine casks gives Edradour's rich, weighty spirit extra colour, depth and a red-wine character, making a bold and distinctive release to mark the anniversary.

Aged 8 years. Bottled at natural colour and no chill filtration.

Edradour is the smallest single-malt whisky distillery in Scotland, located near Pitlochry in the Highlands. Founded in 1825 as Glenforres by a group of local farmers, the distillery was renamed Edradour in 1837, derived from the Gaelic Eadar Dhà Urr, meaning "between two rivers," reflecting its picturesque location.

Over the years, Edradour had had a colourful history, changing ownership multiple times, including a period when it was owned by the New York Mafia. Despite its many changes, the distillery has always stayed true to producing high-quality whisky, with a particular emphasis on sherry cask ageing.
