Edradour is the smallest single-malt whisky distillery in Scotland, located near Pitlochry in the Highlands. Founded in 1825 as Glenforres by a group of local farmers, the distillery was renamed Edradour in 1837, derived from the Gaelic Eadar Dhà Urr, meaning "between two rivers," reflecting its picturesque location.
Over the years, Edradour had had a colourful history, changing ownership multiple times, including a period when it was owned by the New York Mafia. Despite its many changes, the distillery has always stayed true to producing high-quality whisky, with a particular emphasis on sherry cask ageing.
