This single malt was distilled in 2011 at the Deanston Distillery, known for its bright and approachable Highland character. It was matured for 14 years in a single 1st fill Napa Valley red wine barrique, which has integrated layers of rich wine influence into the spirit’s honeyed, malty-sweet character. 

Bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Gleann Mòr Spirits. 

Nose

Balsamic strawberries and freshly picked, leafy raspberries join buttery flapjacks whilst delicate cinnamon and ginger offer additional complexity.

Palate

A rich arrival of plump fresh berries and ripe plums alongside sultanas, golden syrup and building cask pepperiness.

Finish

Long on lingering ripe fruitiness and drying cask spices.

Deanston sits on the River Teith near Doune in the Highlands, converted from an old cotton mill into a distillery in 1966. It produces an unpeated, naturally characterful single malt known for its soft, honeyed sweetness, creamy texture, and gentle spice. Long fermentation times and a focus on natural production (including non-chill-filtration) give the whisky a wholesome, cereal-rich profile. The distillery is also powered by its own hydroelectric turbine, adding to its reputation for simple, honest, quietly distinctive whisky.
