ABV: 55.4% 50 cL

Distilled on the 19th September 2018, this single malt from Dalmunach went through a split maturation - 30 litres were aged in Amontillado bloodtub before married back together. This produced the mid-palate concentration with a little more aromatic lift.

Bottled by Blind Summit and natural colour and no chill filtration.

Nose

A fragrant dram. Stewed green apple, white grape, melon and gooseberry, with a touch of rancio. Pistachio and orgeat, green tea and orchard blossom.

Palate

Rich and round. Oxidising green apple and yellow fruit, with almond and pithy nut skin. Sponge and icing, toffee and fudge developing, then ginger and gentle spice. Do they make oxidised green apple fudge?

Finish

Long and fleshy, with oak, green apple skin and carrot cake spice.

The Dlmunach Distillery was named after a nearby pool on the river Spey. The works on construction of the distillery started in 2012 by demolishing the old Imperial Distillery. The new building, which was designed in an award-winning contemporary style with sustainability in mind, opened its doors in 2015.
