Murray McDavid

Cult of Islay 35 Years Old 1989 Mission Gold

ABV: 43.9% 70 cL

Conjured after 35 years in cask, the Cult of Islay pays tribute to the islands's messanic spirit and its zealous and devout followers. Two legendary Islay malts, Bowmore and Laphroaig, were married together for many years and later paired with graciously aged grain whisky from the North British Distillery.

With the youngest whisky distilled in 1989, this Blended whisky was aged for 35 years, including a finishing period in a Murça Tawny Port cask before bottling in 2025 by Murray McDavid for their Mission Gold collection. Bottled at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration.

Nose

Berry sauce, creamy with lurking peat.
