Craigellachie 16 Years Old 2007 Old Particular

ABV: 51.4% 70 cL

This single malt was distilled in 2007 at Craigellachie in the Speyside region of Scotland. It was matured for 16 years in a single refill hogshead, showcasing the distillery's signature waxy, oily character with notes of tropical fruit, honey, and subtle sulphury complexity. It delivers a rich, full-bodied experience with layers of orchard fruit and gentle spice on the finish.

The Craigellachie distillery was built in 1891 with the sole purpose of distilling a light, fruity spirit for blending. Like many others, the distillery has changed ownership a few times throughout its life, but production has been steady since its opening, with only a few short closures. However, the style of whisky produced has changed. Nowadays, Craigellachie is known for its bold flavour with oaky and spicy notes. The distillery released the first official single malt in 2014, but the majority of the liquid is still used for blending.
