Craigellachie 16 Years Old 2007

This single malt was distilled in 2007 at the Craigellachie Distillery in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland. It was aged for 16 years and drawn from a single Marsala cask, resulting in wine-forward notes that complementt Craigellachie's signature sulphury, oily character.

The Craigellachie distillery was built in 1891 with the sole purpose of distilling a light, fruity spirit for blending. Like many others, the distillery has changed ownership a few times throughout its life, but production has been steady since its opening, with only a few short closures. However, the style of whisky produced has changed. Nowadays, Craigellachie is known for its bold flavour with oaky and spicy notes. The distillery released the first official single malt in 2014, but the majority of the liquid is still used for blending.
