Cut Your Wolf Loose

Cameronbridge 12 Years Old

ABV: 56.9% 70 cL

This single grain was distilled on the 19th of February 2013 at the Cameronbridge Distillery - the biggest grain distillery in Scotland. It was supposed to be created as a house "bourbon" for the Cut Your Wolf Loose Bar by maturing single grain  in heavily charred STR casks.

Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

Nose

Buttery Biscuit Base with a capital B! Smells like a Parisian bee at breakfast - waxy, covered in pastry flakes and coffee.

Palate

A brown sugar cube with a penchant for arson and the nickname “thick and chewy”. This shouts notes of rye bread, slathered In dark honey, and topped with caramel-coated almonds.

Finish

Long, warming and slightly smokey. Like taking a nap in a cosy knitted jumper by an open fire.

Tax included.

The Cameronbridge Distillery was founded in 1824 by John Haig. In 1829, it became one of the first distilleries to install a Patent Still invented by Robert Stein, John Haig's cousin. Soon after, two Coffey stills were added to keep up with the latest technology. The huge demand for the liquid had the distillery producing non-stop, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. In the late 90s, the production was expanded beyond whisky and Cameronbridge started distilling gin and vodka as well. 2007 marked the latest expansion to this powerhouse. Today, Cameronbridge is owned solely by Diageo and is the backbone of many blends.
