Little Brown Dog Spirits

Burnadjacent 36 Years Old 1989 - Batch 2

ABV: 47.5% 70 cL

Distilled in 1989 in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, Burnadjacent is teaspooned Balvenie. Balvenie is known for a honeyed, fruity and beautifully rounded spirit, and long ageing shows it off at its best.

The first Burnadjacent release disappeared in near record time, with orders for more than double the number of bottles in the cask. When Little Brown Dog secured a second cask, they released it straight away for those who missed out: a sister cask with an extremely similar profile, at the same price.

It has matured in a refill hogshead, a cask that has already held Scotch whisky, so its influence is gentler than a first fill cask and well suited to long ageing. As a teaspooned cask, with a tiny amount of another malt added, it is bottled as a blended malt rather than under the distillery's name.

Over 36 years the spirit has developed slowly and gracefully without being dominated by oak. It was bottled a few weeks short of its 37th birthday, and the label is a colour reversal of the first release.

Aged 36 years and bottled on 23 November 2026.
