Gordon & MacPhail
ABV: 58.4% 70 cL
Filled into cask in 2012 at Bunnahabhain, near Port Askaig on the north-east coast of Islay, a distillery known for its gentler, fruity style among the island's malts.
Part of Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range, it was matured for 13 years in a single first-fill sherry hogshead. The smaller hogshead and fresh sherry oak give the spirit plenty of rich, spicy, dried-fruit depth.
Bottled on 4th August 2026 from cask #2921 (batch 26/026), presented at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 268 bottles.
Cranberry and cinnamon lead to tangerine peel.
Sweet stewed apple combines with raisins and white pepper.
Full and spicy, with lasting clove and citrus.
Tax included.

William Robertson built Bunnahabhain in 1881. He chose the very remote North East coast of Islay for the site, which meant not only did he have to build the road and housing for the workers but also that the only way to get the supplies in and whisky out was by ship. Even though the new road was built in 1960, making it easier to reach the distillery, boats supplied the distillery up to 1993. Bunnahabhain Distillery is known for its low-peated, but they still create a heavily peated style called Staoisha.
