Distilled in 2016 at Bowmore, on the shore of Loch Indaal in the heart of Islay, this single malt comes from a distillery known for a balanced, maritime style, with gentle peat smoke sitting alongside fruit and sweetness.

Bottled by Signatory Vintage for their Un-Chillfiltered Collection, the whisky was finished in a combination of 1st fill and refill Oloroso sherry casks before bottling at 10 years old.

Oloroso is a rich, oxidatively aged sherry from Jerez in southern Spain. Using both first fill casks, which give a strong sherry influence, and refill casks, which are gentler, allows the finish to add richness and depth while keeping the balance with the spirit.

The sherry finish brings a richer, rounder layer to Bowmore's coastal smoke, making for a well-balanced young Islay malt with plenty of character.

Aged 10 years, distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2026. Bottled at natural colour and no chill filtration.

The Bowmore Distillery was granted its license to operate in 1779, making it the first legal distillery on the Isle of Islay and the second one in Scotland. However, historical records suggest that the founder of Bowmore, David Simpson, had been distilling in Bowmore for over a decade prior to the granting of the license. Bowmore Distillery survived many ups and downs, but the whisky was produced continuously until 1940 when RAF coastal command commandeered the distillery to help with the efforts. The distillery was reopened soon after. Currently, the Bowmore distillery is part of the Beam Suntory portfolio.
