This single malt from Blair Athol Distillery from the Highland region in Scotland was distilled in 2015. This dram represents a distinctive single malt Scotch Whisky finished in first fill Tawny Port cask from Cabes de Murca. This expression combines the characteristic spiced and fruity notes of Blair Athol's character with the rich, oxidative influence of Portuguese fortified wine finish.
Bottled in 2023 by Murray McDavid for their Benchmark collection, at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 310 bottles.
Freshly baked cherry bakewell, vanilla bean and creamy malt unfold on the nose.
Summery floral flavours mingle with toasted almonds and red berries on the palate, leading to a long, sweet finish with delicate strawberry and rose water notes.

Blair Athol Distillery was established in 1798, situated south of the scenic town of Pitlochry, by John Stewart and Robert Robertson. Initially, it was called Aldour, named after their water source. However, the distillery didn't see much success, and it was soon closed. In 1826, John Robertson reopened the distillery and renamed it Blair Athol. Since then, it has changed hands several times and is currently owned by Diageo. Blair Athol’s nutty and spicy malt is now at the heart of Bell's Blended Whisky.
