Balmenach 14 Years Old 2010 Spirit of Scotland

ABV: 61.5% 70 cL

Spirit of Scotland presents fine single malt Scotch whisky bottled at cask strength. Each bottle captures a moment in time never to be repeated.

This single malt from Balmenach Distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland was distilled in 2010. It matured for 14 years in a first fill Sherry hogshead before bottling in 2025 by Gordon & Macphail, at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.

It showcases sweet blackcurrant flavours and dried fruit with Demerara sugar developing with a hint of black pepper.

The Balmenach distillery was initially operated without a license until 1824 when James MacGregor obtained a license for it. Its original name was Balminoch, which is derived from the Gaelic name ‘Am Baile Meadhnach’, meaning ‘middle farm’. In 1922, the name was changed to Balmenach Glenlivet Distillery Company, and the distillery became a part of Distillers Company Limited. Today Balmenach uses traditional machinery and methods. Most of the liquid produced in Balmenach is used for blends, and the distillery does not have an official single malt offering, but it can be found through independent bottlers.
