Auchentoshan 2010 Cask #700968

ABV: 55.7% 70 cL

Founded in 1823 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Auchentoshan is one of the only Scottish distilleries practicing triple distillation. This patient method crafts a bright yet complex spirit character, balancing top notes of citrus with a distinctively cereal-led base.

This single cask has been aged for 15 years and finished in a Pomerol cask, producing juicy red fruit notes, marzipan and gentle oak spice. Bottled at natural cask strength of 55.7% ABV, without artificial colouring or chill filtration. Only a limited number of bottles have been produced, with only 174 being bottled.

Nose

Vibrant raspberry notes dusted lightly in confectioners' sugar, followed by inviting aromas of cherry and marzipan (freshly baked cherry Bakewell tarts). Strawberry accents mingle with a gentle hint of Japanese plum wine, deepening the fruity sweetness lent by the Pomerol cask.

Palate

The whisky offers a rich, oily texture with a satisfying viscosity. Juicy red fruit meets a firm yet refined tannic presence, adding balance and structure.

Finish

Notes of ripe cherry and soft marzipan continue through, accented by gentle oak and pleasantly subtle dryness on the finish.
