This small batch release from Arran Distillery was matured for approximately eight years in traditional oak casks, before being carefully re-racked into select ex-Port casks sourced from an artisan producer of this iconic Portuguese fortified wine. This thoughtful finishing process adds rich, fruity complexity and a velvety depth, creating a beautifully balanced whisky with layers of sweetness and elegance.
Cinnamon, baked apples.
Vanilla spice, ripe citrus & dried fruits and nuttiness. With a splash of water more depth of mandarin citrus with fudge and honeyed notes.
Spice, Bitter orange, Chocolate, Cherries.

The history of distillation on the Isle of Arran is long and rich. Once home distilling became illegal, the islanders went underground and kept supplying the rising demand for the water of life. The Arran distillery in Lochranza, opened in 1995 and is the first legal one since its predecessor, located in Lagg, closed its doors in 1837. Unlike many distilleries on the West Coast and the islands, Arran's whisky does not use peat. Their malt is soft and smooth, with citrus and cereal notes.
