ABV: 50% 70 cL

This limited edition Arran 10 years old Single Malt has been distilled using malted barley grown on the Isle of Arran, at Belle Vue Farm by the Currie family. Batch 002 differs from Batch 001 as it has been produced from Concerto Barley as opposed to Optic Barley. The whisky has been matured in a selection of 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels.

Nose

Fresh herbs and bright citrus, balanced by soft vanilla sweetness and a hint of aniseed.

Palate

Ginger biscuit and vanilla. Citrus notes and a complex oily texture bring depth and complexity to the fruit.

Finish

Rich and warming with gentle aniseed and sweet spice.

The history of distillation on the Isle of Arran is long and rich. Once home distilling became illegal, the islanders went underground and kept supplying the rising demand for the water of life. The Arran distillery in Lochranza, opened in 1995 and is the first legal one since its predecessor, located in Lagg, closed its doors in 1837. Unlike many distilleries on the West Coast and the islands, Arran's whisky does not use peat. Their malt is soft and smooth, with citrus and cereal notes.
