Arran Amarone Cask Finish is a part of Arran's range of wine cask finishes. The combination of vibrant malt and Italian wine created a complex and fruity malt.
After initially maturing in traditional oak casks over a number of years, this single malt was finished in a selection of Amarone wine casks. The wine was sourced from an artisan producer of Amarone wine in the Veneto region of Italy.
Cherry, turkish delight, chocolate.
Poached pears, touch of cranberry and honey.
Sweetness, Pears, Turkish Delight, Cherries, Dark chocolate.

The history of distillation on the Isle of Arran is long and rich. Once home distilling became illegal, the islanders went underground and kept supplying the rising demand for the water of life. The Arran distillery in Lochranza, opened in 1995 and is the first legal one since its predecessor, located in Lagg, closed its doors in 1837. Unlike many distilleries on the West Coast and the islands, Arran's whisky does not use peat. Their malt is soft and smooth, with citrus and cereal notes.
