Ardnamurchan Distillery

Ardnamurchan The Midgie 2025 Release

ABV: 48% 70 cL

This is the second release of The Midgie, a bottling celebrating the wildlife that surrounds the distillery and is called by, maybe not the most loved, but definitely the most common animal on the peninsula - the Midgie!

This year's recipe is entirely different. It still includes peated and unpeated spirit distilled at the Ardnamurchan Distillery, but for the first time ever, this single malt was layered with unpeated ruby port barriques, which bring with them a decadent, fruity funkiness. This batch was rounded off with a luscious peated sherry butt and bottled at 48% ABV.

The Adelphi-owned Arnamurchan Distillery, located on the picturesque peninsula of the same name, was built in 2013. The buildings were designed with sustainability in mind, using renewable energy and recycling as much water and heat as possible. The first liquid to run through the distillery was unpeated, with the peated malt being added a year later. Ardnamurchan produces both peated and unpeated spirits, often combining the two to create a new depth of flavours and unique style.
