Ardnamurchan AD/Sauternes Cask Release

ABV: 50% 70 cL

This limited release from the Ardnmaurchan distillery, located on the picturesque peninsula of the same name, started its life by ageing un-peated spirit in ex-bourbon casks for five and a half years. It was then re-racked into carefully selected ex-Sauternes wine barriques for 30 more months, resulting in notes of apricot and heather honey with a touch of peppercorns.

Nose

Apricot jam, almond flakes, marzipan, brioche bread, dried stone fruit.

Palate

Seeded bread, green peppercorn sauce, apricot, heather honey, the palate is more savoury than the nose.

Finish

Less sweet than the nose, wonderfully balanced with a dry finish.
