Adelphi Selection

Ardnamurchan 11 Years Old 2015

ABV: 58.6% 70 cL

Distilled in 2015 at Ardnamurchan, at Glenbeg on the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula in the western Highlands, this single malt comes from a distillery that produces both peated and unpeated spirit with a coastal, characterful style. This cask was filled with peated spirit.

Selected and bottled by Adelphi Selection, it was matured for eleven years in a single first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead.

Pedro Ximénez, or PX, is the sweetest style of sherry, made in southern Spain from grapes dried in the sun until almost raisined. A first fill PX hogshead of around 250 litres is a powerful influence, bringing dark, sticky sweetness and a deep colour.

1 BOTTLE PER HOUSEHOLD

Peated spirit and a PX cask is a well-loved combination, with the rich sweetness of the sherry wood playing against the smoke.

Bottled at 11 years old from cask #328, presented at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration.

£85.00

The Adelphi-owned Arnamurchan Distillery, located on the picturesque peninsula of the same name, was built in 2013. The buildings were designed with sustainability in mind, using renewable energy and recycling as much water and heat as possible. The first liquid to run through the distillery was unpeated, with the peated malt being added a year later. Ardnamurchan produces both peated and unpeated spirits, often combining the two to create a new depth of flavours and unique style.
