Founded in 1898 by William Teacher's son, distillery was known for creating blend Teacher's Highland Cream. Today Ardmore Distillery is mostly known for the traditional highland peated single malts, using Teacher's Highland Cream as a principal component. 

This single malt was distilled on the  27th August 1996 and it has matured in a refill hogshead for nearly 3 decades, showcasing silky mouthfeel, a lot of tropical fruits, vanilla cream and woodfire smoke. 

Bottled on the 20th July 2026 by Woodrow's of Edinburgh for their Warehouse Reserve collection, at natural cask strength, natural colour and no chill filtration. Limited to 183 bottles.

Nose

Orchard fruits, vanilla, toasted almonds and chamomile, underpinned by damp forest floor and a subtle hint of smouldering wood.

Palate

An oily mouthfeel carries sweet stewed apples, ripe peaches, vanilla buttercream and marzipan, balanced by earthy minerality and gentle bonfire smoke.

Finish

Medium to long, finishing with orchard fruits, wood ash, warming cloves and a delicate hint of turmeric.

Ardmore distillery was founded by Adam Teacher, who decided that the family blending business needed its own supply of malt. The rural Aberdeenshire was the perfect spot, with an abundance of fresh water, a nearby peat source, barley fields and proximity to the train line. The Ardmore is one of the few East Coast distilleries that has never stopped using peat in its distillation process, combining gentle smoke with more fruity and floral notes associated with its region.
