This single malt was distilled in 1995 at the Allt-a-Bhainne Distillery - a small hidden gem of Speyside. It was matured for 26 years, which includes a finishing period of 6 years, in French red wine and first-fill oloroso sherry casks 

Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Murray McDavid for their Mission Gold Collection. 

Nose

Red currants, fruitcake and vanilla.

Palate

Fruit compote, pastry and soft spice.

Finish

Light malt, sweet fruits and floral.

Allt-a-Bhainne is a modern Speyside distillery founded in 1975 near Dufftown by Chivas Brothers to supply malt for blended Scotch. Its light, fresh and floral spirit has traditionally gone into blends, though it now also produces a lightly peated style, unusual for the region. Increasingly, it has gained attention through independent bottlings and a small number of official single malt releases.
